Yeast is prepared by dissolving it in a cup with a little warm water and sugar, cover the cup and leave the yeast to ferment until it reaches the lid of the cup.
All of the flour, baking powder and pre-made yeast, as well as oil, yogurt and water, are kneaded until a homogeneous dough is formed.
Cover the dough with a plastic bag and leave in a warm place until it rises, 15-30 minutes
Mix all the filling ingredients together
Roll the dough into small egg-sized balls, and roll out with a rolling pin on a floured surface
Place a tablespoon of cheese and thyme filling on the dough, fold the edges of the dough inward, and then bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
The fatayer are served hot and with a dipping sauce or with tea or coffee.
